The struddy is a solid rod. Had one myself before it decided to take a dive off the side of my mates boat. 7' is arguably the perfect size for a flick rod. Can fish from the jettys, rocks, off the boat and on the flats. Can catch pretty much anything shore based (except maybe mulloway). One pieces (in my experience) are also less likely to snap as the join in a 2 piece rod acts to amplify stress when the rod is loaded.

Crap that's bad luck mate. Yeah no doubt it's a good rod, my biggest concern is just getting it around because I have always had a two piece, ill see how it goes I suppose, thanks mate. I'll let you know about your rod :P

I can fit a 7' one piece in my Toyota Starlet, so it should not be a problem, but if you are on public transport, be careful as all the hand rails etc are not kind to rod tips.

I take 7' on the bus all the time, stand where the disabled/elderly platform is and put the tip through one of the handy triangles and that will cradle the whole rod. People will give you weird looks of disgust and there are going to be heaps of retards saying "Hey mate goin' fishin'? And dealing with those people is probably the most difficult part of taking a 7' rod on public transport. You could get a rod tube, you still get those weird looks though :/

I got a 7ft rod tube pretty cheap that will protect your rod and make it easier to transport.  7ft should fit in alot of cars even diagonally or a bit out the window.  but i can fit a 9 foot straight in my car lol

 Yeah i managed to fit mine in the back of my mazda 2 with 2 surfboards and a whole bunch of other stuff. Just get creative with seat placement
