I have used bonzer imports before
and their service was great. Recent prices from them however have not been significantly cheaper than local prices. May pay to have a good look around.

Includes all taxes(if over $1000) and shipping and you send the money to an Oz account. BlueHeron for transducers(cheapest on freight), still waiting for my R199.....

Blueheron marine. I would love to stay local but not with the massive difference in price. EG, Wet box 260 for a furuno was $1350 local, all up posted to my door $800 aus from the US.
I did just purchase a TM270W from taylors for my boat as I needed it urgently and i nearly gasped when i got the price.

looking at powerwinch at moment, and in US they're about $400, yet here they're $900 !! (for the 912 model)
certainly makes you want to buy globally with that sort of difference.

Garmin upgrades
Iv currently got a garmin 4012 with. 600 watt tranny. What sort of $$$ would I be to upgrade to a 1 kw? Does anyone know if it's a better unit with the additional power or not worth it.

Yep
Yes it will improve depth and sensitivity, but 1st check what model sounder module you have and I can let you know. We can also fit it. How's the rest of going now?

Local V US
I have bought my electronics from the States, could not justify the price difference.
The local guys here have to buy from the sole importer. So their prices are pretty much set even before they get them. I know the likes of Oceanside and Allboat will do the best deal possible. To the point where they make next to nothing from it.

Worth contacting All Boat!
I found it is worth contacting all Boat for a price....they really do try their best for F/W members!
Wasn't quite as cheap as importing, but the difference was smalle when making sure I have a warranty, and knowing I'm supporting a WA business.
Just a personal opinion on what I found when buying a Powerwinch and Lowrance VHF 880 radio.
cheers.

No Problem
I've bought gear from a few US retailers and never had a problem - Bonzer Imports & J & H Products are both a real pleasure to deal with. Save yourself some $$ and give it a go - just beware of Geofencing with GPS Plotters.
