Rod tube

weve got a road trip planned shortly, and the boat will be staying at home.
i am going to install a rod tube on the roof racks to cart a couple of rods with me.
I was wondering if anyone has put a rod holder together and where you got the parts from.
I was going to get 4" pvc tube with screwed end caps, but open to other people ideas.
Thanks

yep that's exactly what I've
yep that's exactly what I've done. just put rods in rod sleeve then can fit 4 rods in to each. ofcourse beach rods will take up a bit more space.
just got my gear from the local retic shop. cost me about $25-30 each tube. I have both ends screw but really only need one permanent cap (cheaper) and one screw.

Easy.
Put a little bit of soft foam inside each end cap as well just for some protection when they slide back and forward- and you're away.

maybe drill a hole through
maybe drill a hole through the cap and the pipe and attach a piece of string, have had caps lost on long trips and its a long worrying journey home when the only thing between a few hundred bucks of rods and them flying out onto the road is some gaffa tape and a plate!!!
Also, if you are ever going to have them in there in any kind of non-rural city areas, wouldnt help to have some kind of lock protection. A few times ive had the car parked at bunnings and coles, come back to the end cap off as if someones had a look. Never left my rods in so its been ok.
Fishing and catching are two different things. But i want to learn how to catch.

Wraps
We normally roll our rods up in an old sheet to prevent rubbing and scuffing between rods when on road or tracks , strat with one then the second etc Rods go headto tip with each other and the set length of the tube
