Just finished watching the iView doco on Roger Swainston and seriously recommended it; the bloke is a West Oz icon and we've probably all got his books on our shelves or in our boats

Well worth watching.
Also fwiw if you ever get the chance to pick up Swainston's Fishes of Australia then do it. It's not cheap, I got mine for a bit over $100, but it's such an amazing piece of work. Awesome art accompanied with a great amount of info on the fish types.

Though Ive never met him, he is friends with a good mate of mine from Coral Bay.
Must get hold of his book for my collection!
Give a man a mask, and he'll show you his true face...
The older you get the more you realize that no one has a f++king clue what they're doing.
Everyone's just winging it.

Fantastic
A fantastic glimpse at the work of an artist who's work most fisher folk have studied an admired.
I would love to know how Rodger anchored at that Stone Henge spot. Im sure it was not a case of just dumping the anchor overboard. Maybe thier is a permanent mooring there....
I agree with Rob H. A copy of his book is on the wishlist for me.

I was lucky enough to get a tour of his studio a few years ago, Hammy Hill way I think it was, the place was mind blowing. So many incredible paintings, some of them were huge, and the detail on them was freaky.
