Rope Splicing

 Hi peoples,

                 I'm trying to chase down someone who's abit handy at splicing rope.  I dont dont need much done and I am willing to pay in beer or a bit of a day trip or money what ever floats your boat, i'm just looking for a nice clean and tidy job some one out there must have some skills in this department

its not hard to learn, buy a FID and jump on google!

 ts only really wire and 8 strand that gets a bit more complex

Simple as shit, forget the FID and just jump on google,

Dont forget to mouse your rope before you start (that or burn it) and then once you finish if it looks like a dogs breakfast throw it on the ground and roll it with the toe of your shoe back and forth for a couple minutes.

Dont forget to properly taper either, if you're wanting it to look nice and neat. Some easy to follow tutorials on youtube. Double braids a bit harder as you need a proper fit (with fid lenght markings) and they dont seem cheap unless you buy them overseas?

What splices do you need and in what rope?

 cheers Jayden i'm a slave to barrow island for 3 more weeks so that  stuffed that idea and hlokk one bit its hard to explain it's for a catch bar setup and out of all the pics i have with me none are of the bar and the splices i need and what rope is the reason why i'm looking for some one that knows what they are doing because i havent got a clue.... BTW FTW is FID ??? god i hate acronyms

Not sure what your doing at Barrow, but I'm sure there would be a few riggers/dogman around that might be able to show you or give you a few pointers.

 copy that just what i'm after thanks alot snappermiles sounds like a good reason to take the boat to rockingham and get some rope spliced and then go for a fish, you know whilst i'm there and all
