Great second dive
Great spot for a second dive is the kingston sanctuary in thompson bay. The visability there is always excellent, its a sanctuary though so of course there are lots of big crays where your not allowed to take but awesome area and an easy dive.
It has probably the most ship like wreck on the island the "Macedon" which is pretty much the bare steel hull hollowed out sitting upright on the reef, and another the "Denton Holme" to the north, which the two are almost touching. There is a courtesy mooring there too that public can use. About 15 meters north east right next to the mooring are some really cool swimthroughs and caves where there is a resident BIG blue groper thats usually seen, turn right, SW'ish about 30 meters from the caves and you'll find the Denton Holme and further along the Macedon pretty close to the sand line that runs in the direction of the jetty.
If your interested, 31o59.170' 115o33.360' will put you in a big sand patch where the mooring is not far from you. If you check it out on goggle earth might give you a better idea.
Most popular sites on the island are just the features on the charts, good spots are roe reef, jacksons rock in low swell, swirl reef is really cool, you can enter the top of the reef at six meters and exit out around 15meters on the sand and crystal palace is also really popular, go 200meters east of the lead line for parker point toward Dwyer island and you'll usually see up to 15 boats in a pretty big area all with dive flags. look for the area around 8 meters deep and you should find lots of holes and caves down to around 12-14 meters. Only thing is these are only really good for fun dives, the sites get hammered so you won't see any crays if thats what your after.
Rotto is full of awesome reefs and drop offs so if you want crays just suss out the charts and sound out some good looking reef in your preferred depth and give it a try. If you like the deep stuff in 25-30 meters sound those depths off salmon bay and north of bathurst you'll find lots of large drop offs and ledges.

Thanks very much for the info
Thanks very much for the info fellas plenty of good stuff here I really appreciate it especially the detail you went into "reefmonkey" We ended up using a couple of spots just 6 miles off mindaries that I got from mindive (midarie dive school) and were luck enough to find some good swim throughs ledgeas and even spotted a few crays along the way. I will definitely use this info for next time...cant wait to get out at rottnest sounds great...
