Salmon (again)

hi everyone. I know this post is just a replica of my other ine pretty much, but dad finally told me that he would only go 2 hours max (no arguing he reckons) for the salmon on a day trip, because we aren't going on a holiday and we don't have any camping gear. So I think the furthest we could get to is Busselton but maybe a bit further. Over these holidays is the time that we want to go, so it would be great to know a good beach that doesn't need a 4x4 to get down there. Just flicking lures and will have a few baits incase.

Oh dad just said Margaret river is the furthest he will go.

thanks any help is great! I am monitoring the lure posts aswell.

and I have just come home from a school camp at Wellington dam and the collie river. Annoying other campers at honeymoon pool and potters gorge, sorry for that lol. Didn't see any fishos which was surprising, looks great for fishing, but no rod and mates that aren't fishermen, no fishing for me!

Hamelin bay

Hey matey try Hamelin Bay only 35km past margs, you can park at the boat ramp and the beach is only 50-100m from your car. Might be a few people down there this weekend but should be some fish

All the best

Im not sure if the salmon have hit it yet but head down to bunker bay buddy, its normally pretty calm and you can walk the whole stretch of beach casting at them, its closer than margs and MAYBE slightly less hectic than the other side of the cape.

any beach or rock platform from Dunsborough west and south will have salmon pass through at some time of the day.

Personally I would head as far south as possible.

Bunkers, Smiths, Inji/Mitchells, Moses Rock, Willyabrup would be your Northern options.

Areas like Boodjidup, Redgate, Contos, Boranup/Hamelin, Cosies will be very reliable south of Margs options ATM.

Good luck finding a park

Thanks this is great help! I have noticed not too many reports of salmon yet so I might wait until next weekend. Maybe stock up on a couple lures
