Salmon clause is coming to town..

Well me and mad fisher went out for a fish this morn, after a few engine troubles(my bad, should learn to grease the steering arm!) we eventually got out. Windy as all hell we putted along until about 5 meters from the boat a school of salmon came out of no where. First cast with a snap back on my 8lb bream gear resulted in a hook up, after a 5 minute fight i had the first one boat

Then it was on for young and old(not saying your old mark :P its a saying)

Just to give you an idea of the size of the fish , as the photos dont give these thumpers justice.

The first one on a snapback measured in at 86cm and weighed around 5kg, then they just got bigger. No small fish in the school, all horses.

We eventually lost the school when mad fisher decided it was his turn to land one on bream gear and this fish just wouldnt give up! Well, it wasnt just us who lost it, about 15 minutes into the fight the school went deep.

Great day fishing!

Nothing since Friday.....Sat had a school gone pass the tip of north mole so as usual every soul got a fish and it was chaos everywhere. But I think most of the schools have gone out wide and deep......had a customer telling me he caught one off Rotto from 40m down....on a 300gm jig!!

Nice photo's Shizza and Madfisher. Have just got back from down south early as the swell is 5.5meters down there and not really offshore conditions! Going out Thursday and Friday if the conditions are good to see if we can't find where they are at the moment. Sounds like everyones been having a ball with them thou!

i went to south beach yesterday and they were everywhere and a guy landed a 7kg one on 3kg line. to bad i didn't get to hook up but went again today and the schools were just to far out to get a lure to them.
