Salmon ( Esperance, Albany)

Hi all, I'm doing a trip with work and will be in Esperance tomorrow and Albany Saturday. Was hopeing to possibly catch my first salmon. I haven't fished down this way since I was a kid and really keen to have a go. Just wanted a bit of advice on best spots to give a go and maybe any local reports might be handy.

cheers

In Esperance, any of the beaches on the west side:  Between the reefs at West beach, Salmon beach, 11 mile etc.  Then there's the beach between Wylie and Bandy creek, which is accessed by the road thet leads to Wylie Bay.  All of these spots are close, easily accessible and have been productive at various times for me.  The rocks around town are slippery and dangerous when wet.

Probably a bit late as its now Saturday, but my old man got a couple from Bremer Bay, which isn't far from Albany. Knowing him, it would've been a paternoster style rig with a mulie fished off the beach. The only beach rig and bait he's used for 50 years!

I bet he has caught everything he has wanted on that rig too.
