You have got my mouth watering. Been making preparations to head down south for awhile now and just got to firm up some details.
But I can't wait.

I'll be into them again this year. What a fun day it always is. Just a bonus that I'll be in Hamlin bay in Feb for the kids surf life saving break up for a couple of days. In go the rods again.

Good shots from Hamelin Bodie.Used to find better results from Boranup end where the fish hit first. Also picked up some double figure[lbs]tailor there as a bonus using chrome slices.

how far north could you realistically get into em in late feb you guys reckon?
at a guess obviously. wondering if i'll need to take the bro in law and his dad to south coast or stay closer to home (capes region)

Salmon in Bunbury

Fri, 2009-01-09 16:23

Best place to get salmon is on the north side of the old cut at first light in the morning,so if you've got a dinghy or 4x4 its the place to go

Spent 2 weeks in Busso last

Sat, 2009-01-10 10:04

Spent 2 weeks in Busso last year during March....made a couple trips down the west coast and did lots of prospecting in the Meelup area and never saw a fish. But then they started coming through big time in early April and I managed to get onto some by doing a few day trips.

The metro salmon run last year was a bit of a fizzer, at least for shore based, but I'll be down at the Cut and Mandurah entrance just about every day after work, having a look!
