Whiting
Can catch whiting about 700m out from causeway bridge. You will see a channel marker on your right, to the left of it you will catch heaps of whiting there in any of the sand patches! Put your boat in at point peron, and it will be all to easy. watch the swell thru there tho..pretty hairy at times!

we fish for them generally
we fish for them generally on the 30 mtr mark out from pt peron , anchor and burley with pellets or pot if they arent there they will come in or try another spot close by, we have got a few there over 200 gm
a few years ago we also got them inside the ffb in the sandy areas near the point, we will be going back there again soon and tryto get them on film , its about 15 mtrs
heaps out there just look around and amongst them you also pick up the odd flatty and kg

Mako knows where to get
Mako knows where to get them. You shoulda seen his bag for the comp last week lol
I've caught them in 5m at pt peron, so they're in close (and were decent size), but that doesnt mean thats the most reliable spot to target them. If Mako, the Faulkners and other club members are getting them around the 30m depth, that would probably give you the best chance.
If you find a patch, you pretty much get as many as you want, so just cover ground til you find them.

Agree with all the above.
Agree with all the above. Have also found that the deeper the water, the bigger the size. I have a good spot just east of Coventry's on the inner edge of FFB. Some nice sand/rubble. Top eating (if u like filleting buckets of fish) but get one of those scaler bags mate. Oh and awesome bait too obviously. Sounds like your doin a bait run before hittin Exxy eh?

You want bait size or eating
You want bait size or eating size.
3"/5" stay shallow. All that sand straight out from PP ramp or bent street is full of them.
5"/6" with the odd bigger ones to 10". Sepia depression which is the deep section before FFB. Thats where I get all my bait from 3 at a time. Just drift and hit the schools.
8"+ find sand after FFB..25+ meters. Ive caught them before in 55 meters on 3/0 gamas thick as my wrist
