Sandy Point Warroora/Warra Beach launching

Hi

Looking at taking my 6m plate boat to Sandy point later in the year. Has anyone launched a boat that size down there? I was down at Maggie's October last year and seen some 5m boats launching at Sandy and the sand looked firm. Towing the boat with 79 series dual cab (photo attached). Canopy comes off so that should lighted the load.

I guessing the option 2 is to launch at Coral Bay.

Also any pointers for heading in out of the passage just north of Sandy Point?

Thanks

No dramas

You shouldnt have any dramas the sands pretty firm and flat, track in is mellow too. Coral bay isnt far if you change your mind.

The channel can be daunting as waves can jack up in a few spots but you can see them coming a fair way out. Seen plenty of 3-4m tinnies go no worries just sit and watch it for a while and track your path as an option for returning.

If you managed a spot at Sandy's thats the dream.

Thanks for the info mate. I'm thinking the passage will be similar to Sth passage Exmouth, stay at Mesa a fair bit and keep the boat on a mooring there. That STH Passage can get very interesting...

Wont have any issues, just max traxx the trailer tyres and you will be fine.  Last time i was there the track in was a bit soft coming around the corner into the lower section, but sure a bit of air out will sort that for the cruiser.

Just sound and chart the channel on way out and spend some time sussing it out, esp on low tide, does look different when trying to get back in with any swell.
