Has anybody ever owned a Savage Surveyor 6mtr half cabin boat here?
I like the boat in question and would like to hear some impressions of what kind of boat they are.
It seems they are not that common available being an older boat.
Here a picture of one recently sold.

Yep, that is what I have been
Thank you for that.
Anybody else know anything about these boats?
With the looming marine park lockups, a big safe craft to venture further out is on my radar so I can keep fishing and enjoying boating.
It seems that these Savages were build like a German tank, ride beautifull and do not need 300HP to get these going which makes a big difference in the fuel consumpion and the miles one can travel.
Now to find a decent one

To quote the latets second
To quote the latets second hand boat secrets magazine "the Savage surveyor 5.8m is one of the best buys on the used boat market - if you can find one. Those that do appear also vary widely in price. Iv'e seen some boats advertised for as little as $7,000 others for more than $14,000." & "Be sure to check carefully for structural and mechanical problems - some of the early models will be over 30years old." (seems there a good solid boat but just make sure you get one thats been looked after given their age and possible problems from neglect).
They rate it as a soft dry ride in choppy water (20 degree deep V hull) and remarkably stable at rest for a high sided 19 footer with a deep V hull. Max power rated to 200hp ideal power at around 130-150hp.
Hope that helps

These are a good solid boat
These are a good solid boat as paul h quoted just the usual for buying though check for rotten stringers floors and transom can be a costly rebuild exercise otherwise and happy to help with a inspection if needed.
