Save our country

 Hey lads and ladies.

Unfortunately not fishing related but sort of.

The family and I spent the weekend down at yeagarup with track care https://www.facebook.com/TrackCare/ , pemberton discovery tours

and fellow volunteers doing the annual beach clean up.

This is the 2nd year we've been. We've also been part of many other rubbish clean ups including wilbinga and mundaring powerlines.

This year we had 16 cars and a heap of kids involved

This post is purely aimed at spreading the word of what we are doing to our coast and bush land.

This small trailer load is just 6km of beach around yeagarup. Many larger bits are to be collected later.

I was also witness to rangers enforcing fines on people burning their camp scraps into the fire

All it takes is you picking up your own rubbish or a couple extra pieces when you see them.

Only future our kids have is one with no rubbish.

Cheers for reading

 Good onya Gilly,

Its a depressing topic is the ever increasing pollution/rubbish etc globally...

Coke produces 3,000,000 Tonne of plastic per fucking year!!

https://www.forbes.com/sites/heatherfarmbrough/2019/03/15/coca-cola-reveals-it-produces-3m-tonnes-of-plastic-packaging-a-year-in-ground-breaking-report/#4b7511d2670f

The WA coastline is actually very clean, The Leeuwin pushes most of it around the corner and sends it East.

I have a feeling Eucla might've been a hotspot for rubbish but South Oz is certainly a fucking mess....

I think ocean users should be paying a levy for beach clean up, I remember a hard hat blew off a blokes head and it had to be reported when i was working offshore. The drilling company was slapped with a $10,000 fine...

When you look at the rubbish from just cray fishing alone i think that industry could be reaching into their pockets to at least help pay for fellas like yourself out there doing the righty...

Anyway good on you mate, setting a great example to some youngsters

I walk along the beach most

Mon, 2019-11-25 19:30

I walk along the beach most days in Naval Base and pick up rubbish. So many bait bags, bottles and cans. Copious amounts of glass even in the short stretch I walk on in my 30 minutes.

Fine weekends = a full bucket for me on Monday.

I don't get it.
