These are starting to ramp up again, had one allegedly from the ATO and I’m going to jail for a long time got tax evasion, So today, I googled my phone number, it came up in so many searches, it’s no wonder I’m getting called.

I've got a no junk mail
I've got a no junk mail sticker on my letterbox and some real estate agent kept dropping flyers in it.
I used his phone number and spend a good hour signing him up to organisations such as Greenpeace, Getup, Sea Sheppard, Vegan groups, feminist groups, World Vision etc etc
Officially off the Pies bandwagon

Yep same
We get in the order of 5 or 6 scam / nuisance calls per day on average. Registering with Do Not Call doesn't seem to make any difference. This has been going on for many years now and is the reason why all landline calls go to answer machine. People who know us always leave a short message and we'll call them back.

I get the one from "Telstra"
I get the one from "Telstra" where they say I've been getting hacked then they try to make you give them remote access to your computer so they can leave spywhere.
I've gone to the trouble of learning a few Indian (Hindi) swearwords a bit juvenile but pretty satisfying.

I was working from home
I was working from home yesterday and my wife ran in saying that she just got a message saying she was being arrested. I rang the number and listened to the spiel and then offered the bloke a settlement: He gives me 50 grand and I won't hunt him down and cut him open from cock to chin. He hung up so I rung him another 5 times and then reported it to the ATO. This is the number of the scammer, feel free to call him or sign him up like Frosty did 03 9028 8697.

where is Telstra/federal
where is Telstra/federal police on all of this? - I got a call from the (fake) ATO saying I owed money and to sort asap bla bla bla from 03 9028 2926
So its obviously a scam - but how can you set up a land line and it not be traced to someone?
If it is so widespread why are Telstra not working with the police to stop this?
Is it profit (Telstra) at any cost? - don't worry - I am a capitalist - but not at the cost of crime!
