Seabird report
Another top fishing weekend at the Bird. Saturday being our yearly fishing comp with my young fella taking out the biggest Pinky at 5kg caught on a live Sand Whiting. Our bag for the day being a 10kg Bronzie ,2 Pinkies, 1 Dhuie,1 Baldie and a dozen big Sand Whiting. We won the mixed bag prize as well. Monday being so bloody glorious couldn't be passed up so out again to hit the Whiting first up. Then a troll as we passed through Bretton reef and a hit straight away resulting in this ripper Yellow fin..
We then headed into about 32m and the young fella christened his new rod and reel he won in the comp with this Dhuie and small Bronzie..
Last fish of the day a nice Baldie.
At one stage we had all rods go off at once and all resulting in bust offs. My guess was a school of huge Sambo's or the Tuna that were boiling up everywhere hitting us deep. A piss off to lose them all but the initial runs were awesome.

Looks like a top weekender,
Looks like a top weekender! The tuna? That is probably a longtail, not enough of a football for a YFT.

Fair call Jamie.Iwasn't so sure myself but all the old salts came down for a look and called it for a Yellow fin. Can't argue with the stubborn old buggers lol.

I canned the last longtail I got and it was delicious, previously I had always let them go oh and they go like stink too!
