Seasport charter 21/12/11

Hey Guys

got the chance to get up to jurien on wednesday with a few of the boys off here for a day of jigging. This was the first time i'v been bottom fishing off jurien and geez did we catch some fish. Every body on the boat ended up catching a fish even though the weather was against us. Jig's deffinately outfished the baits with Smith Mejiyumes and Lamble baits killing it.

Quinny's Sambo on PE2

Lamble Bait catches the first fish of the day

This Dhuie pulled the scales down to 18kg

a Small tacker

Nice sambo for Johny on his light gear

Baby Dhuie for me

Quinny hooked up

A cracker Dhuie for Whitey that pulled the scales to 13kg

A nice sambo to end the day

Bodie- Depending on what type of jig it is as to what action you want to impart on it. I use short sharp jabs with a long pause and just continue it. It's hard to understand until you see somebody doing it. Whitey use's long sweeps/lifts with long pause, most fish are taken on the pause.

Paul- Its an OGM L50

Whitey is a true jigging master. I gotta get up there again sometime!

What Saltiga combo were you guys using? Saltiga 4000 + 62s-2/3? how do you rate it for demersal jigging?

How good is whitey.I went out

Sat, 2012-01-07 06:44

How good is whitey.

I went out with him the day on the 30th of dec and we had bagged out by 10.30 in the morning.. He was the only one on the boat that was using a jig and it well and truly out fished the baits. He let me have a go at jigging with his little overhead combo that he uses and for my first attempt at jigging i scored a good dhu on my second drop.

We will be going back again soon but plan on jigging all day.
