Think its a grinner/lizard fish. Those buggers definitely have egos and appetite above their size.
And is the best bait for Mulloway I have heard off. And not bad at all for other fish either.

Bloddy good Rankins, and just love the Pearl Perch (yum, better than the bigger cousins down here IMO)
Edit: In the first pic I would lift the anchor and throw some lures out the back. Amazing bird action in the background.
