A shark gets sharked!

This is from a newspaper article a few years back.

Does anyone know if its a common occurance for sharks to predate upon others of their own?

Cheers.

Browny.

In South Africa they sometimes "swim" a smaller shark as bait. Basically just rigging it up and letting it swim back out as live bait. So yea id say its fairly common.

but they do get considerably bigger-had a few onboard in the old days where its a stretch to touch both eyeballs at the same time. Having said that they have a very skinny body compared to a tiger of similar size.

Its only a baby, I've got one on film showing a dusky whaler being pulled on board that has been bitten in half just behind the dorsal fin with one bite, the dusky was about a metre in diameter where the bite was.
