Shark swim by

After a few delays due to electrical issues headed out from Hillarys a little late on Saturday morning. Conditions were stunning and it was great to test out the boat without wife and kids on board. Also pretty cool to test out the new Raymarine Dragonfly.
Haven't worked out how to post video but after the burley cage was out, we had a visit from a 3-3.5m great white. Very cool to see such a big fish up so close.
Unfortunately only boated one keeper, a sand whiting and heaps of undersized flathead. The shark made the day though.

What a privilege you have had
I think it would be damn great to get a close up look at Mr white like you have had.

Awesome!
It was truly awesome. I can only imagine what it would be like to see a really big one. Speaking about it afterwards, we did realise that it was a pretty rare thing to see in the wild, especially for someone who has only had a boat for about a month! Wasn't worried at all, it wasn't bigger than the boat and apart from the close look it had at the boat, it was very cool. Extremely privileged!
Stand by the 3-3.5m call, tough to tell through the water. Was approximately 5-6km NNW of Hillarys harbour. Called Fisheries to let them know, they didn't seem that interested and passed me on to Freo Water Police. I'll try and work out how to upload the video.
