Enjoy your fishing mate. I've pretty much been in self isolation for over a month after having an accident that resulted in a full knee reconstruction (synthetic disc inserted) with all my tendons shredded and needing surgery. Still have 2 months before I can even drive again.
The graph I put up was about social contact en masse--" the guy who didn't go to the BBQ" --who broke his chain. It was about people who went about there normal activities in crowded places. Are you saying I cannot get into my ute, drive to the local, generally deserted boat ramp with my wife, having contact with NO-ONE-remember this is not the swarming masses of the Perth metro area ramps--and get in my boat , which is already fuelled up, and steam off? There's as much risk in that as getting in the ute, driving around town without talking to anyone, then going home. Until we are all ordered to actually not leave our houses, which will not happen unless we need to individually quarantine, this is OK. Far less risk than having to visit a supermarket. The two scenarios don't even compare in the slightest.
Anyone that posts a picture of a fish caught from a port other than their home port during the travel ban needs to have their head read. It's showing a BLATANT disregard for other people's well being.
For those that hadn't picked up on it. On the subject of travel between regions, we are likely to see bans coming into place beyond the one for the southwest. I fully understand and support this. However, I am in a situation where I have to travel to Perth , today. It is for a surgeon's consultation. I thought they would cancel, but, no, they still want me there. I am told that, if I put this off any longer, the outcomes for the sight in one eye may not be good. Of course, the actual surgery involved will very likely be put off, anyway. I'd much rather just stay home, TBH. I have also been offered 2 days work in Perth next week--I'll pass on that. My work involves classroom delivery, with groups of up to 12, and both the people I stay with down there are either age or health compromised. Apart from the fact that I'm 67 myself . And one of the mining majors still has me booked to deliver training in the Pilbara next week-???? Personally, and from what I'm hearing from up there, not gonna happen, non-essential personnel from at least BU within that company are being sent home today, hard fact from a superintendant, direct. The other major has postponed all theirs.
Fishing is off the cards now scomo has clarified today only essential movements permitted. Eg to collect food travel to work and exercise. All leisure activities cancelled
Interested as I promised the kids I would take them, cant find anything that backs up not going fishing so long as its only with your immediate family and no interaction with others in my local area
In the last premier speech he said could still go to the beach but if people weren't doing the social distance then he would close beaches.
Surely if you can go to beach and then you can go fishing on boat with immediate family members?
I think the essential travel is for long distance / between regions, going to beaches, hairdressers and PTs for example are allowed (though not essential really).
I told the misses that we can't even go fishing but I guess the fact that they aren't shutting down tackle shops and boat ramps then maybe you can i honestly believe it is not essential and probably won't be doing it but I would really like too.

Are you seriously comparing the two?
