Shimano Terez rods

I'm looking to put together another rod and reel, mainly for dragging a lure behind the dinghy, Mackies or tunas I guess. Just trying to fill up a gap in my dinghy fishing. I'm looking at a Shimano Terez. Anyone got any good or bad about these?

it's the 80lb heavy spin.(6'6"?) Paired with a Stella 20000 and 80lb Power Pro. I have abused the f**k out of this, locked drags, just won't give in. Standard work for it around my neck of the woods is sitting in a horizontal holder dangling a livie on a very high drag setting, to keep the trout out of the bottom. Interesting when a big sambo grabs it . Up at Ningaloo, anything from sails to sharks, big potato cod, locking the drag on good demersals.  Perfect for it. One of my sons has a slightly longer one, 40-80lb rated, also does a good job. I think they are good value for the money.

I use the the 15-30lb spin model with a sustain 10000... good combo and rate it. I dont like the big lump of rubber on the butt

Pull the rubber off the butt.... it's a protective cover for the bit of your rod which goes into your gimbal belt...:). I've got the 40-100lb version matched up to a Saltist 6500 running 80lb braid. Nice setup, feels as though you could stop anything with it.

from a rod builders perspective

I do some repair work for local tackle stores. The stainless guides rust when the epoxy cracks on them. It starts under the epoxy so only a rebind can remedy the problem. Apart from that a few snapped ones(mainly white mid size 20 to 40lb)but i guess warranty would cover that
