Sinkers for salmon?

Heading dow for a shot at some salmon over the weekend and wondering whether I use sinkers or not. Going to use a tailor rig with ganged hooks with mulies. If this makes any difference, I am heading down to Mandurah. I will be taking some lures aswell. Cannot use live baits because of no surf rod.

Depends on the wind
If you can cast far enough without a sinker, dont use one. Just vary the amount of time you let your bait sit before winding back in slowly. If the breeze is in, use a sinker to get the distance
