no its definatly a baby tiger shark the pattern of a leopard shark is completly different to that of a tiger shark , also the mouth is completly different on the leopard shark compared to the tiger shark !
the guy who caught it was an english back packer who'd never been fishing befor so he should be happy to know his first fish was a tiger shark. even if it was just a baby.
Brilliant markings on the babies, hey! You don't see too many tigers that young anywhere...fisheries research might be interested in more details regarding this catch because not much is known about the spawning habits of tigers.
im amazed that you caught the baby tiger in the blue water, iver seen them around that size i the merchison river feeding on mullet and even mudcrab, they've caught some quite large pregnant females out of kalbarri, so wouldnt suprise me if it isnt a nursury in the merchison or even around the mouth of the river. lots of baby shark bite sized mullet there. thats my opinion anyway.

yeah its got me a bit
yeah its got me a bit interested now i'v found out the species. was caught just south of sand patch in 20m of water on a bottom rig.

Have caught huge tigers with metre long pups inside and have got one metre ones with 6 inch babies all alive and sent off to live another day
