Soft plastics off the beach

 Hi guys

I am heading down to Augusta for a weekend in a couple of weeks and will be stuck landbased and l am looking at  throwing soft plastics or blades off the beaches and rocks but l don't know what to use l will mainly be targeting skippy, tailor, mulloway, salmon and anything else so what plastics or blades are best off the beach and what size jig head?

Thanks in advance

Struggle

any surf zone will make it hard to keep in contact with the softy, better off with metal slugs or twisty lures in that situation, cast a mile even when windy and you will get tailor, maybe an early salmon, bonito, skippy etc.

I don't know the area well, but if you have wind at your back and a small enough swell, plastics certainly can work.  Mostly it's a matter of whether you can cast to where you want to, and as Jmac says above, metal slugs will cast much, much farther.  For shore-based plastics I'd try 1/2-3/4 oz jigheads with 5-7" jerk-shad type plastics for tailor, mulloway, and salmon. Go as light as you can. Herring on tiny plastics and light gear can be quite fun too, if you can find a place with suitable casting conditions.

Stick baits work well off the beach, you can punch them out a good way into a breeze. You can work them a bit slower and differing depths than metals.

I do use soft plastics off the beach very effective on Mulloway, but you really need offshore or calm wind condition unless there is a hole or gutter right at the beach edge. I find I need at least an ounce head minimum 3/4 to get out far enough to work the lure. I use paddle tails to work them slower and you need to weight to punch them out.

BCF sell a Molix brand one I use to great effect on Tailor. Shimano Orca is a good one to cast and work the depths of the holes for tailor and Mulloway. X rap a good one as well. Halco Cgar Ok for Tailor. I dont see salmon often fishing Lano but they will be happy to eat them all.

The stick baits allow you to fish the reef breaks without getting snagged too, unless you let them senk to far. Can be where the best fishing is, in the foam zone.

What's the name of the molix stickbait and what size do you recommend? Can you get any of those lures under 25 grams?

the pit bull is the maria bull chop replica and the suspending stickbait is 28gms. Works well on a slow/medium retrieve and tailor love it. I've had success on the pink and the orange
