Most fish up north will eat anything you throw at them, don't over think it....fish hard and you will catch fish, put in the hours. good luck

Depends what you are chasing

Depends what you are chasing mate but 7" and bigger in most brands will do the job. Either your gulp (bait) styles or some mccarthys etc.

When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:

n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or

n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.

Zmans...

...I have no experience up north with sp's but I DO know there's more stuff with TEETH so I would lean toward something more durable...and it pays to have a wide variety of jighead weights/hook sizes to handle different conditions/species!

Plastic can easily be destroyed by northern species, even ones without razors for teeth due to the aggresive takes. That is why my goto plastic has been the Snapback's in pearl white. Jacks, quennies and trevor's love them. I dont know if you can still get them because I dont use them down here in Mandurah. Perhaps I will give them a bash.

Plus one for the Snapbacks if you can find them.....otherwise the Zman stand up to teeth fairly well
