i have seen a few people using tennis balls for this.
cut a cross in it about 25mm long each way and jam your rod but into it.

We used them on a charter
We used them on a charter recently in QLD. The big ones were no good as the butt rolled around too much the smaller was ok but still not the best. A bit of a gimmik that did not really work. They were a quick option to relieve a gimble being stuffed in your groin but a belt was far better.
They nick named them the cock sock.
