Spinning Reel Recommendation - 2500/3000
Submitted by buschy on Sun, 2018-08-19 12:33
Think the thread title says it all guys, looking for a recommendation. I'm replacing a Team Daiwa Advantage 3000 that has served me really well for chasing mostly little stuff. Daiwa no longer stock some of the parts, so time to replace.
Happy to look at anything up to a few hundred bucks or so. Mostly used for casting small baits into light surf, flicking around off rocks and jetties, chasing bream in the rivers or throwing out small lures. Quality is important to me. :)
Cheers

Cheap option Diawa BG
I've tried a few of the Diawa BG's now (2500, 4000 & 6500) and I'm impressed. Great value for money.
Alan Hawk gives them a good review. That's how I got onto them.

Being a cheaper option, you do forego a few little things over more expensive 2500 models.
Slightly heavier, less drag, less ball bearings, cast body vs metal body and make sure that you clean them after exposure to salt as they will corode around the bail arms easier.
But I'm still a big fan.
Diawa haven't been keeping up supply to retailers because they have been selling better than Diawa expected.

Thanks guys for the reponses - will come down to Certate vs Sustain, and leading towards Certate just because I'm a Daiwa guy. The BG looks like a good value reel - the type that should be in every collection but I think an extra $150 or so can get me a whole lot of extra reel ;-)
Tight lines.
