Square Crab Nets

Has anyone used square nets before? They are the Draggin Lady nets hand made down Bunbury way.
They look the goods being stainless rings and quality netting but I am wondering about anyone's thoughts if you have used them.

Two advantages!

1. You can fish in corners!

2. When you lean them up against the shed wall, they won't roll away!

They look good

Theyre on sale every second weekend at the markets on the eastern foreshore at Mandurah. I have crab nets already & dont need any more but if i did i would get some of these. They are expensive but very good quality. There are a few different styles & sizes. Square is a good idea for easier storage. If you believe the maker, they are easier for older folk to pull as you dont  have to lean over the side of the boat as much as you do with round pots.

Round

The reason that drums, buckets are round is that you get the most volume for the material used.

Arnt the big size $30 if so

Arnt the big size $30 if so no thanks. We worked with 5 big pots and 5 smaller standard size in the Swan last week. Got our bag and can tell you there was no noticeable difference in catch rate between the two. In fact the only double header came from the smaller pot size.

Big Round

I use the large round pots from Custon Networks in O'connor. They are a metre in diameter and have nice heavy rings and 8mm rope standard.

Had em for a few years but fom memory they were $19
