I launch from Hillarys and the shallow weed beds have been doin well for squid but iv had a hard time the last few rimes, water been dirty, maybe they head deeper this time of year. I always go for a drift for squid before comin in after huntin the pinks on the 3 mile before sun up. Can hunt them for a few more weeks before the ban. Sunrise/sunset usually in the dark for the inshore pinks and dhus (10-13m) on 3mile or u need spots out deep for daylight fish id imagine.
For squid north of the river - launch from hillarys and drift the broken weed / sand bank inside Little Island which is not far out of the marina.
For squid south of the river, launch from Woodmans Point and drift the bank off the end of the point (all the way across to carnac island, barr the shipping channel).

I am, as I've said, merely competent. But in an age of incompetence, that makes me extraordinary.
