squid worm/parasite or even sperm???

hey guys,
I got back late last night from fishing and decided to leave the squid in the fridge to clean this morning. So When i pulled them out of the dish today, a little worm like creature was left crawling around the dish.... WTF is it? can i still eat the squid? from what i understand i should be able to as i am only eating the meat/muscle not the whole thing.
found this on google while trying to find some info on the little worm thing.

That story is f***n gross. Who eats whole squid anyway? 12mm sounds a bit long to be sperm but i have nothing to base this on. As long as your just eating the hood i reckon its fine.

If the food is cooked that should pretty much kill any eggs or larvae that may be present.

My mate came over before... we ate some and saved some for bait! tasty!
i've got the little bug in a container.... still alive kicking strong.
Might give the mrs a feed when she gets home and then show her the critter! Haha

If it's a nematode and you don't kill all the eggs they can enter your system and then you are in for one very sick time, old saying if in doubt chuck it out. Having somerthing like that in your gut or blood stream would be serious, just how bad do you need a feed of squid

I threw it out
I knew I should have kept it, incase anyone recommended science. I still have the heads n guts in the freezer for berely/bait.
Might try contact him when I get home, as I am curious what it was
