Stella SW4000 vs Branzino 3000

HI,

Hi Everyone, a smilar post most likely has been put up before, and i gather this might open up a can of worms due to the brands that i am considering.

Has anyone used both these reels and prefered one over the other.

I am looking at using one of these around Exmouth / Coral Bay, for soft plastics from the shore and maybe a little light jig work running 20lb.

Any thoughts would be great

for 20lb the branzino would be the better choice low speed designed moreso for jigging but it depends on what model
stella4000 you get (xg, or pg or standard)
Both quality reels tho

already have

cheers guys,

The size of the reels do concern me a little. I already have a Steez 2508. great reel but gets a little hammering when you hook up to a decent sized spango etc.

as i already have a steez is the branzino 3000 too close in size. ( i undertand it is a lot better reel than the steez)

I guess my other alternative is a Certate 3500HD

Branzino

Hi Mate

looking at both reels and really I wouldnt get caught up in which is better between Steez and the Branzino (both top end reels)- there is a bigger body from the 3000 and larger spool plus its more of a hybrid between Certate, Exist and Saltiga and they dont make them anymore, the 2508 Steez is a top notch reel which is running a shallow spool and sits in the 2500 range.

Branzino suits the 20lb range really well and i wouldnt trade mine at all.

Got the 2500R Hyper Certate which is a brute as far as gearing goes and knocks most bigger fish over than what it should, the Branzino is just too nice not to use.

next size up

Hey Bradzino,

So would say that in physical size you branzino is a considerable size bigger than your 2500 certate.

I just dont want to get something, then be thinking i wish i had have got the next size bigger.

not really

Looking at the body's next to each other its not a massive difference but looking at the spools you can see how much difference there is.

I got around 280mtrs of hyper 20lb on the 3000 and with the 2500R you get 200 of 15lb mate. if you think you need the bigger one ray and annes have awesome deal on the hyper Certate 4000 at the moment for $599 these were 800 bucks and are a lot bigger than the 3000.

depends on the cash and what you really want- check them out first

Cheers mate,

I guess all i will be using it for is spinning with soft plastics from the shore at Coral Bay and light jigging, small poppers from the boat inside the reefs.

3000

Mate go with a 3000- I like the Daiwa gear but thats personal preferance, some of the other fella's might let you know the size difference between Shimano and Daiwa but the 4000 Stella is closer to 2500 from the specs?

check out Daiwa Australia as the new Steez, Luvias and Sol are coming out with big changes including the mag seal- I have a 2000 Certate and its super smooth and nice to use so the 3000 Certate is even an option.

Good decisions really...

branzino 3012h

I fit 200m of varivas pe1.5, 28lb on my 3012h. And it will fit a 3000 luvias, certate or branzino spool on it if you want more capacity. Awesome reel tho. I have always been a Stella man, but the branzino has ticked all my boxes.
