stress relief sorted out now
got my fix of boating today and what a day for it, near perfect cond all day, even with the thick fog this morning.
hit the barges first up and ambers were everywhere with no sharks for us anyway, (some for others) even with the big rod out with a whole fish on it but no takers. they seemed to be taken on baits today alot more than jigs?
at one stage the ambers hit the top and the water was boiling, hundreds of them jumping around everywhere, chucked on some lures and got a couple trolling.
move on to a spot in the 40's a friend passed on and got into a couple of small sambos as well, chucked some baits down for them, they wouldnt touch the jigs. as a bycatch also got a small just size jew and a just under pinky and 3 big black ass.. all at the same spot.
every thing was returned well.... except for 1 amber for a feed.
again the whales were going off, with 2 pods coming past us in about 1hr with 4-5 in each pod.
also good to see fisheries at woody's this arvo checking as many as poss by the look of things.
all up good to be out on the boat again, but cant wait for the 16th dec.
cheers ron

Aww man sounds like a great day out Ron. No sharks and ambers on the surface! What more can you want. Many boats out there? I didn't get out today but will definately be out tomorrow with the family chasing some whiting or something.

goodz we got there very
goodz
we got there very early and was only 1 other for a few hours, but at its peak i would say maybe 10 at the most.
every one was getting into them with not many landed, plenty hookups.
mate when they hit the surface, it was unreal they were every where, we were prob the only ones who tried trolling though.
had a couple smash a popper a few times as well.
unreal to see big fish smashing the surface.

it might b worth while
it might b worth while investing in a couple of extra jerry cans if you plan on heading out there, not a good thing having to call sea rescue because of no fuel

as russ said mate, i would
as russ said mate,
i would be taken more, i have 250l tank and the boat never goes in the water without being full, you hit some bad weather and could add another 30-50ltr on top.
always have more than you think you will use, its a long way out to be towed in

i dont think your legaly
i dont think your legaly allowed to go that far witthout a working radio
anyways you should get a radio that works if fuel is a worry just chuck some lures out and troll your way there and back will save heaps of fuel

Radio
No worries hekser, be a good idea to get that radio sorted before you head out more than five miles from the mainland.
With your limited ocean experience (and ANYONE heading out for that matter) you should definitely log on / log off with your local sea rescue station. Nice to know that someone knows about your movement if it goes pearshaped in any way.;)

Hekser. you would be better
Hekser. you would be better off buying a new radio and forgoing 1 trip out. they are'nt that costly to buy and you are better off with one that works and if you get caught out that far without one you can be charged
