Hey fellas.
I'm having a look around at graphite surf rods in the 13.6-14ft range, anyone got any rods that they recommend, preferably be able to throw 6oz. Your thoughts would be appreciated.
Cheers Rick

I borrowed my mates 14ft
I borrowed my mates 14ft Daiwa Emblem Pro for a few weeks & was very impressed with it. I think they run at about $350 (not certain though). The Daiwa Surf Sensor is an excellent rod also & I think it's around the same price but again I'm not certain.

surf rods
Depends on the use:
Tailor/ Mullaway would require a 4-6 ounce rod
sharks would require a 7-10 ounce
a good bet would be a 5 piece (with 3 tips in to 5-8 oune range)
will set you back between 500 and 700 bucks though.

Five piece combination is
Five piece combination is hard to find these days..... If $ isn't the issue then the Ballistic is the way to go. Would set you off around $650.....

5 piece rods
Loomis make a 1446, 5 piece with a 4,5 and 6 ounce tip in 14 foot.
posiedon have a 14ft 5 piece with 5,6, and 7 ounce tip
Blue marlin also make a 5 peice with 4,5 and 6 ounce tip
unfortunatly you may have to import them.

The poseidon gold class 5
The poseidon gold class 5 piece absolutely launches a 6oz for a good price. Its my go to for medium surf fishing. I think i got mine for around $300 from rockingham somewhere, not sure who stocks them these days. But yea if you got the cash go the ballistic.
