It's on the Saturday to Sunday 26th Feb. I have not been in for 20 years. done well then so I am hoping. In those days you could catch some big cobbler and flatties but I am not sure the fish will be as big now. we will see.

Unreal,???? did not know that, just as well you mentioned it. I just checked fisheries and a total ban till 2017.
I had the biggest Cobbler in the Swanfish 1990? 19991?.
Probably the last one I caught beforte going over seas for 10 years back in 1992. Have not seen one since.

deffinately. go down to the narrows on a windless night and you will see at least 10 cobbler, some huge ones too. almost stepped on one, wading the canning flats last month, would have been at least a metre long!

I reckon your tackle is
I reckon your tackle is pretty safe
If there are any caught, I'm guessing heaviest mulloway is likely to be any mulloway?!
When asked by a non-fisherman 'how many fishing rods do you really need?' the correct answer is either:
n+1 (where n is the number of fishing rods you currently own); or
n-1 (where n is the number of fishing rods which would cause your significant other to dump you.

There's more mulloway in the
There's more mulloway in the swan than you think.
Last years Swanfish was the first Swanfish for years that there was no mulloway landed.
Most years there's fish ranging from 14-16kg.
Cheers,

yep....
Spot on Sam, normally theres a few mulloway weighed in. The vouchers for both prizes will be won and last years comp was odd with no mulloway but our $250 Heaviest Mulloway prize was still given out that day......win win

Justy a thought, Lets say
Justy a thought, Lets say that no legal size mulloway were caugth, but say some one catches a soapie, can they be eligable for the prize with photo proof or a witness???? it's still a mulloway regardless of size. what's the ruling?

I reckon this is a flaw in
I reckon this is a flaw in the system. seems a heap other fishing tournaments in Aus are run the same way.
Would be good to see some kinda measuring system so a pic can be taken varifying the size and the fish could be released.... Not only in the case of undersize fish but if someone prefers to catch and release. Wouldnt work for all categories but say biggest mulloway and stuff like that.
Would set a better example for the young fishos just getting into it who come to watch the weigh in and see "oh wow, you dont have to keep everything you catch".
