Swan river suprise

Last sunday out on the swan having a fish with the missus and kids, was pretty slow we got a few bream, flounder and tarwine but I was stoked and suprised to pull this little guy up. I tell ya what on light bream gear he put up one hell of a fight. Made my day

Always thought their breeding grounds were offshore, like the Abrolhos, and wouldn't think, once born and starting to grow, that they'd move around much!

Maybe he got mixed into a school of bream, or baby snapper, and just followed them around!

the guy we bought our stand up paddle boards from spends alot of time around north freo / rocky bay where the water police are stationed, reckons he has seen samson fish and large snapper swimming through there

A decade or so back I had several weeks of thumping Skippy from around that area, all between 3-5kgs. Had to get them turned on with minced mulies then take them on quickly worked jigs, got some solid Pinks during the same period.
