Targetting Mulloway on lure in the surf

Looking for some advice and ideas about this and hoping to speak with anyone who has succeeded with either soft plastics or diving lures. I have a friend who fluked one, and have spoken to a couple of old blokes who have done it too. I know the Saffas are right into it but i dont hear many people trying this in Perth. Cheers !

I have caught them on both at
I have caught them on both at Lancelin. The main thing is to pick the right day and spots that are working right. I find the next few months the best time to do it we have some good gutters and holes close to shore. The beaches generaly steep into deep water so it is a lot easier to work the lures right.
Best to go mornings with offshore winds helps getting the lures out, a bit of swell helps too they like a bit of cover from breaking waves / foam much like green backs so you tend to get a few of those in the process. The tailor help keep the interest because it is usualy a lot of casts between fish, but every now and again you pick the right day and spot and you can get a few.
