So here we have it... It is happening...
Trudy and I have agreed we want to get out there ASAP and are heading out next weekend. We are aiming on somewhere around Busselton way. Just got to search for the appropriate camp site. This could be quite funny. Everyone is welcome to tag along, so tell your friends. If you have any ideas of a good spot we would love to hear it. Somewhere that allows camp fires would be pretty sweet. Ideally we would like to stay close to the beach if possible, so if you are a guru on the area we would love to hear from you. We would also consider heading north, but would rather travel not take much more than 3-4 hours.
Get out the gear... Roll out the swag... It is on and it is gonna be messy!

What abour regular campgrounds? Are there any of those close to the beach which allow camp fires? Surely have to be something somewhere. I want to toast marshmellows! Lol

most caravan parks don't allow fires now, my best advise would be to get one of those camps books. They'll show you all the campgrounds.

Try the Kookaburra caravan
Try the Kookaburra caravan park in Busselton,,5 minute walk to the pub and jetty and a deli next door (if you are in No.1 campground)

just not sure about fires, doubt it considering the position. But a great base if the girls wanna head out the jetty for a fish and then get on the sauce

quite sure you could get a bed with a shower 100 metres from the beach with a jetty, fillet table,hire boats (row boats), fire drum (with jarrah pile) right next to you......for under 90 each for the weekend......great place

havent heard from you for a while since sw comp. did you make it to coral bay this year? my better half and i didnt go but on for next year i would go siesta park as might rain at least you can stay dry but can still light a fire to drink around and good thing you can pull boat up out the front to pick up and drop off if you want good luck might see you down there im might take my boat for a spin getting itchy feet been a few weeks now 300 hp ohh yeah

Ok so Helen and I have decided on the busso area and have found a few camp sites but arent sure which to choose..... any opinions or advice is welcome
we have two in mind close to city centre and jetty
is 2 mins walk from jetty and looks nice http://www.busselton.wa.gov.au/facilities/kookaburra
is the cheaper of the two http://www.busseltonholidayvillage.com.au/

As far as position goes
Kookaburra is about 200m from the jetty.
Busselton Holday Village is about 3-4k's. And is chockablock full of retiree's in park homes.

You'll find
that water course next to Peppi CP is a diversion drain from the Geographe catchment. Where it meets the ocean is my local beach. Not alot in there in the way of fish. Few small bream and whiting is about it. Can get into some Tailor, Herring, Whiting and endless Rays off the beach along there. Not alot else unfortunatly.

awesome spot, hope the weather holds up for you all,as it maybe be a bit average this time of year,there,s fresh water coming out of the cliff there (spring) , should be some good gutters along the beach for fishing,
just be carefull of swells and weather on the rocky areas, I would avoid them this time of year, if the weather is decent and you,s want to go deep sea or in the bay for fish and squid,,I my offer still stand but you guys are a fair way out, about an hr from dunsy,
matty hows ur foot, are you able to go out next week? weather permitting,
