He looks a bit slow on his first reaction when its coming out of the water.
Used to get the odd couple of them when anchored with all the lights on at night when pro fishing up north. They would attack the small fish attracted to the light and instead of landing back in the water they'd hit the deck. Best we had got was 5 in one night off the Glomar shoals.
Had a hooked spaniard do that to us a few months ago. It exited the water a bit closer to the boat , sailed clean over the boat past our heads to the other side and continued the fight. Could have turned ugly, considering my wife was fighting it and I was physically holding her up to stop her falling over in the rolling boat haha
And if you are in the wrong place at the wrong time, Danger ++. Happened to me once with a quenie. Jumped clean over the boat, and the Noah that was chasing it slammed into the side of the boat.
A Razor gang member that lands in the boat green as, watch them teeth. They go nuts!!
I was diving at the Maui B platform in NZ back in '79. We had the bell down at the seabed with one diver out working and the standby diver sitting in the bell reading when a barracuda came up through the bell door past the standby diver whacking him on the cheek, hit the light above, on coming back down it the startled diver on the other cheek and then went back out the bell door. The diver let out such a yell it certainly got the attention of the support crew on the surface. This was all captured on video.
