These times are gold

Got an opportunity to take my old man boat fishing on Saturday. He's now 78 and just recovered from a bout of cancer, so these opportunities are to be treasured. Makes up for all the times he took me growing up and he's responsible for turning me into the fishing tragic I am now. Just listening to his endless stories of fishing in the old "days" is priceless, and he managed a few nice fish too, including this Baldie. I hope my kids read this :-)

Good work Belly. Put him onto a good one too. If he is anything like my old man they used to fill the boat with ones like that in their day!! Haha

Put your Dad onto fish, excellent job. Great to hear he is recovering. Hope the summer gives the two of you another crack at good fish.

Good to see old grandad getting out there and having a crack again.. Would have loved to been out there also (dam work). He sure does have a lot of fishing story's of the old days.....I'm sure some of which are true haha.

Fingers crossed he is well enough for a few days at the abrolhos in a couple of months. :-)

Well done and good to see he has caught a top eating fish

Wish my old man had taken me fishing but he hated it, something to do with being the youngest and having to go with his old man on the dirt road from Pemberton to Windy Harbour, sit in the boat while the men fished and sit in the car in the dark while they had a few coldies at the Northcliff pub on the way back, probably wishing he could have been off with his mates doing their own thing.

Spent many hours with my son and grandsons fishing and hope they still take me out when I reach 78.

Awesome moment for memories...last year went back to NZ as my dad was dying with cancer...managed to take him out on Lake Taupo for his last trout fish...one of the best times for many years and memories to boot...video and photos to have to reflect. Well done..he will treasure it as well. Glad he has come through...
