those that got out yesterday (sun)

Just wondering how everyone else did on yesterdays full moon.
It was a fair day personally , and while I did get my two demersals , they were at opposite ends of the trip.
Managed a 50cm bb in the morning and a 60cm baldie nigh on last drop , but inbetween those came heaps of small to just size dhu's , small snapper and sgt bakers , rock cod's and footballers. (lot's of shit fish basically)
Jig's did very well but bait also got the baldie.
On a side note , copped a parking infringement from OR after the bloody ticket machines roobed me of $9 and left me without a ticket. What do you do?

Good bite but lack of size
We had a hot bite all day, tagged 10 demersals and let another 5 or more swim without a tag. Most were just under size.
Dropped a couple of big fish that I would definitely call for dhuies.
Bite times coincided with the major solunar times and then eased off after 2pm.
Only kept a Dhuie and a KG. With the usual feed of sandies.
Had several rat sambos at one spot that was covered in fish. Unfortunately they were getting to the baits first.
Cheers

I use the credit card in those machines at ocean reef and never had a problem. Those cash machines at hillaries and Mindarie can be temperamental

parking fine
Make a stat declaration get it witnessed and take it in to the council make sure you full detail the time location etc some times you will find that you are not the onlyone who has been pinged wrongly and the council can check the machine on what times it issued the last ticket etc.. if you don't ask you may never get the right answer

Out to Key Biscane from
Out to Key Biscane from Ledge. 1 Pinky a smick undersize, massive NW blowie and usual array of shit fish. On a side note My young fella christened the new jigging outfit with a huge sgt Baker. Some blokes near us got onto a school of Sambos. So a it turned out to be a philosophical day.

Pretty averageday at Mandurah at the bank, just some crappy reef fish, nothing exciting!
Lots of people moving around often, following others.

Same same
Headed out there myself old salt. My mate had a dive on the 30m mark and saw nothing but a sambo.
Went further out to 50m line and only managed a couple black ass and fox fish.

I owed rockoe_ a fishing trip in exchange for some Eagles members tickets that he offered us last season.
We left Mary St. ramp yesterday at 7.30am and headed out towards the FFB. After catching some rock cod and wrasse, we moved a few times and ended up around the 40s but not much happening, even though we had some nice sounder pics.
rockoe was using SPs and somehow hooked (jagged) a couple of nice whiting and s small rock cod (about the same size as his 6" Mcarthy
). One of his Mcarthy's got smashed by something that bit the tail off and left a deep gouge in the body...no idea what it was, though.
Maybe we shoud have targetted the whiting as we were getting continuous tap-tap bites but nothing in the esky. Back at the ramp, the guy behind us said he cleaned up on whiting so I'm thinking a return trip is in order.
Anyway, it was a great day on the water and nice to finally square the ledger with you, rockoe.

Sounds like you had a day like we did Russ. The mind went into overdrive as it always does on the drive home thinking up ways to improve things. A couple of ideas came to mind and I'll post them up if they pay off and make a differance.

Lovely day on the water
Headed out about 8ish and 1st drop snapped of by something angry and then mate nailed a nice pinky on SPs then she went dead for a couple of hrs. He then fought some thing i am calling a nice dhuie for about 5mins for that to take him under the reef to live another day.Floated around for the next few hrs catching some s--t fish. We then moved spots to a KGW spot that he had from a previous trip, things started a little slow then the horses were below us for the next 15minutes and we nailed 6 the biggest at 55cm. Great day out there, came home with 6 KGW and 2 nice pinkies.

Pretty shocking day for us, went out from two rocks and couldn't even mark a single fish on the sounder in around 40m. Came into the back of the reef and burlyed hard and still nothing.

Had the same run on saturday
Had the same run on saturday out of Two Rocks , fished for 9 hours and only had a gummy(kept) and a heap of baker's for our trouble.
Tried the same spots that were great 2 weeks before and couldnt find a decent show on the sounder.
Had a bit of a look around and as we turned to head in a different direction a boat comes out of the deep and starts fishing about 50m from where i would have drifted and stayed there for a while , oh well ill check that next time.
Still a nice day (once that easterly buggered off) to be on the water and hear the GF.

We were out of two rocks on
We were out of two rocks on saturday as well. my deckie got a baldie in about 43 m. i got a small sambo. another boat we were with got at least a black arse. a few bakers, a banded sweep went back. we found some really good ground around the 40 m mark with a sizable bait ball sitting on it. i lost some tails on the SP's and about the best thing was all the whales we saw, a couple only metres from the boat! beaut day to be out on the water! rather than go to the show which was the alternative!

Went both days from Ocean Reef
Saturday we bagged out on demersals by around 11am (2 Dhufish, 3 Breaksea, 1 Baldchin - 3 on board), then caught and released a few more size Dhufish and Breaksea Cod. Got a couple of nice KG's plus a Sambo on light gear. Seemed like the fish were feeding.
Sunday was a different story. Never seen so many Sergeant Baker, but only picked up a couple of undersize demersals...seemed dead.

We had an awesome day a
We had an awesome day a little North of metro on Sun. Bagged out by around 11 with a good sized mixed bag and released a lot of smaller dhuies, mostly on jigs. We didnt take any notice of the moon phase but the more we fish this particular location the more we think the tide plays a large roll in how active the fishing is.

Sunday for us was a shocker
Sunday for us was a shocker as well.
Out form two rocks most of the day, weather was not as forecasted.
think we managed 6 undersized dhu's, 2 undersized BB's and 1 good baldie for about 9 hours on the water. Must have loked at 25 different makrs I've had (a coupld we were on only a couple weeks ago and it was just dhu after dhu) but Sunday.......absolutely nothing. some spots showed good fish, but not a bite. Others were swesome drop offs and it didnt even look like there were any wrass about!
Frustrating... ah well.

Whiting and Whales
Went out with the misses and two kids, one under size black arse and a heap of bakers. Ground was awesome but nothing big hitting. Moved onto the ever reliable whiting ground and got a feed. Two whales wouldn't p@#s off and after they came up three metres away and then went under the boat the magesticness of them wore exceptionally thin, especially for my 7yr old daughter.

yep
As Bodie has mentioned me and him along with 2 other mates went out of 2 rocks.
thought we would gather some good fresh baits in shallow first up whilst waiting for the wind to die down.
that all went to plan and then we went out to some spots that have fired for us in the past.
the joint was a BARAN WASTELAND. It's as if the fish were on a long weekend as well as us fisho's.
In total we were on the water for the whole day from pretty much sun up till sun down and we landed 1x good keeper baldie amongst 4 of us.
as a few have mentioned in the posts on here earlier i am glad it was not just us. I was beginning to wonder if we had all forgot how to fish properly over a couple of weeks break. either that or someone had been rubbing sunscreen all over our baits and lines :-) hahahah
ahhh well that's fishing and we will be sure to give it our best to make ammends next time out

Sunday
Ahhh... So glad to hear it wasn't just me!
Went to my favourite spot with a newbie deckie - landed a couple of nice black ass and a sweep. A couple of big hookups that didn't get landed... so have no idea what they were... got a few baby skippy and other crap fish... scorpion cod were nuisances!
I feel so much better about the day out now, at least we got a feed!
Save the Whales! May as well - they won't fit in my catch bag!!!
