Best fun catch
Just wondering which catches was the best fun. I have 3 that stand out. My first fish on fly, the humble herring, but it was a bully and was a blast on the 6wt.
Then surprise! I hooked something that certainly gave me grief, circled the boat up here in Dampier and I thought man this is going to be something. It truely gave a good account of itself so I was very impressed. However when it surface after the fight I was a little disappointed to say the least -- a forktailed Catfish!!!
Looking back though it stands out as such a courageous fight from an undesirable it rates up there with the best fight.
Lastly was a medium Queenfish that had a Noah on its tail, and the little trooper jumped clear over the transom off the boat to escape. I was on fly and couldnt realy drag him away from the shark, but he did it himself by the jump. That knackered him and I got him away from the shark, revived him and sent him on his way. The jump was by far the best I have ever seen from a not so big fish.

Does anyone know where the love of god goes, when the waves turn the minutes to hours?

Forktailed Catfish fight hard. In NT, they call it Powertail for a reason. Haha.

Had a decent size spangled
Had a decent size spangled emperor (nor west snapper) around 50cm jump into the boat at the lacepe islands off Broome - in water about 3 meters deep at dusk -i had a line over the side was just mucking around catching some small fish for bait - we were cooking up some dinner on the bbq at the same time and this thing just came over the side and came pretty close to landing in an open esky - haha, was a pretty memorable moment!!! -water was dirty as the tide was running out but assume me mucking around with a few small fish either attracted him or a few noahs (there are plenty there!)

Most fun
species would have to be Sailfish off Ningaloo. Gee they put on a good show.
Also have caught a 8ft Mako shark whist fishing solo 2km out from Dunsborough. An hour of amazing jumps and powerul runs.
But the highlight would have to have been the Bass Groper in my profile pic. Easily the pinnacle of my fishing career. Great memories.
