Submitted by Yewiefish85 on Mon, 2011-02-07 23:37
Hi guys and girls, i was wondering if any of you out there have the tld 5 or 10, the reason i am asking is that i have both and want to run 3 and 4 kg but the problem is finding a rod to suit the size of the reels but also the line class as i dont really want to run 3kg over a 6-8kg rod, any recomendations will be greatly appreciated.
Cheers Yewie

Yewie, i fish 3&4 kg line
Yewie, i fish 3&4 kg line class and i use ugly stick dhb 1101`s and have had no issues with the rods loading up.
I found them to be a great all round rod, they take a fair bashing in the holders in small rigs and the solid glass tip absorbs even the most savage hits. You have a couple of plum reels to use, there will be a plenty of graphite rods in the market place, maybe some others can share there experiences with them, as breamin and casting rods are my forte, cheers John.

I have a couple of custom made rods that I use for 3 and 4. Pretty hard to find a decent rod for that line class in overhead.
Plenty of options if you wanted to fish spin for those line classes though.
Does anyone know where the love of god goes, when the waves turn the minutes to hours?

Live Fibre 4kg - 6kg
I use a Live Fibre 4kg - 6kg for trolling with 4kg line and I think this could be used also with 3kg. I find it great as a light trolling rod and the price doesn't break the bank either.

The live fibre are a fantastic blank Alan, we have used them down to 2kg line class with great success on snapper, and 3kg for trolling also.

I have a ZWS65U 4-6kg
it was purchased some years ago and is a one piece rod. It may well have been superseded over the years.
