Check out the bat-light from bunnings. Has a normal torch and 2 fold-out led panels heaps of light. Also has magents so can be stuck on any metal surface when open. Not the greatest torch around but pretty handy and only $27.50.

Have both a Surefire and Olight torch and prefer the olight myself.  Mainly as the olight is LED but that being said I have had the surefire for quite a while and wouldn't be suprised if LED models are now available.

Olight goes on the boat with me as it also has a strobe and SOS function

When we go crabbing around the foreshore on the river we use headlamps. The one we use have wide beam and good LED lights for brightness.

If you happen to have any Ryobi " one+ " tools, try the 18v xenon spotlight from bunnings. 35 watt HID pistol grip spotty for 60 bucks. Not sure if its worth it if you have to buy the batt's and charger as well though.

 Can't go wrong with led

Can't go wrong with led lensor, I've got the h7 headlamp, bright as, adjustable focus and great battery life. Use it scooping, fishing, pretty much everything. $79 well spent.
