Trailer parking
Submitted by SeperateKnob on Tue, 2019-08-06 13:43
Thinking of upgrading to a 27ft boat but concerned about parking the trailer at public ramps due to the length of trailer. Anyone else have this size trailer boat and regularly launching?
Cheers

No Issue
I used to own a 8m Haines Patriot - 10m long trailer overall
I launched mainly at Woodman Point - no issues, but you may have a slightly longer walk to the ramp to guarantee not getting boxed in by a muppet, that's all
No issues parking it at Dampier when I was living in Karratha - but I was a Nickol Bay Sportfishing Club Member at the time, so had access to their facilities

Depends what you are towing it with
There was a guy parked at Ocean Reef marina on the weekend with a tri axle trailer and F350 and he definately was outside the marked bay. I have a 100 series Landcruiser and 25 foot boat and basically just fit in the marked bays. I'm assuming this 27 footer will be over 3.5T, so no everyday 4WD wagon will do

Hmm yeah I’ll have to go
Hmm yeah I’ll have to go down and measure up the parking bays to be sure. It’s an Ali with Ali trailer so not over 3.5t I have an old land rover

I don’t want to sound like a knocker
You say basically that because the boat is on an Ali trailer it won’t be over 3.5 tonne yet it is 27 ft, maybe you should check the weight particulars as you are planning on hauling it with “ an old rover” . You may save yourself a bit of a problem by doing another check on vehicle capabilities.

Unfortunately the old
Unfortunately the old landrover is likely the most legal option. Quite a few are 4t rated towing.
Does anyone know where the love of god goes, when the waves turn the minutes to hours?
