Transom Rerating (or possible modificiation)- anyone had any experience?

Morning all

Does anyone have an experience/ advice with getting their transom rerated?

I have an 06 Yalta 555 and it is rated to 150hp/ 220kg, but in order to fit a yam 150 I want  it would need to be rerated to approx 235-240kg.

I am aware there is a formula that is used to do this, but I would like to get it done properly through someone reputable to get the required revised compliance plate for insurance/ piece of mind etc…

I live in Carnarvon and have read that it can be done by remote if the required measurements stack up? If not, can anyone recommend anywhere in Perth that does this?

If it comes to it, I would consider getting the transom reinforced if its not silly money. Obviously, the design of the transom itself would determine the cost but if anyone has done this/ heard of this done etc and knows of a ballpark $ figure, that would help a lot before I start making calls. Also, any recommendations on this would be great. Im hoping to get the new Yam fitted by Chivers, not sure if they offer this but will also be asking there later today.

Ive already been down the different motor path (zuk, honda etc) and am pretty set on the (heavier) 4 stroke. I know the new Mercs are way lighter than the rest, but also want to stay away from them

Cheers, any advice would be great,

Anthony

Im not sure if thatd be

Im not sure if thatd be possible remotely, as it is not only strength but stability that is a factor.

Generally speaking, the engine weight is a stability issue and horsepower is construction strength.

150hp pushing/levering at the prop puts way more strain on the transom than the weight of tghe outboard itself.

And for a naval architect to do that he'd have to have both the hull lines drawing and the actual construction.

And Id be suprised if that Yalta would give that away?

Im not a Merc fan either but the new 150 seems to be giving a pretty good showing in price weight and reliability-its probably the one Merc that Id consider buying on an equal basis to the Jap ones.

But in all seriousness I would go the 140hp suzuki at 180kg.
