Trolling 3mile Mindarie 14/4/14

Gday fisho's - went for a troll yesterday from 3:30pm - 6:30pm behind the three mile straight out from Mindarie. Was pulling a large white X-rap deep diver, 15cm fluoro pink/green williamson wahoo catcher/jet head and a 19cm Halco hard body (Mulie colours) Turns out these three lures are the perfect combination for catching huge amouts of seaweed Grrrrrrr! I noticed that when I was more N-NW of the Marina there was hardly any weed in the 15 - 22m depth line but no Mackies or Tuna - anybody else had any luck out there ? There were heaps of flying fish thats for sure and the sounder was showing large fish sitting 5-6 m off the bottom I presume they were Mackies or Sambo's anybody got anything descent out there lately ?

very few signs of bait schools, just too much weed as well

I was out in the 30's
I was out in the 30's yesterday. Massive bait schools. No weed at all, but trolled and couldn't catch anything. But the bottom bashing was insane.

took me 2 hours to get to my spots out from 2 rocks today because i just couldnt help trolling thru the massive bait schools. seemed immoral not to troll thru them,,,,no hits on rapala magnums. came home with a couple of good dhuies and a blackass.

Some Tuna still around the metro area I've heard, haven't heard of Mackies for a couple of weeks.
Nothing makes a fish bigger than almost being caught!

justo what did you get out
justo what did you get out bottom boucing - i have been out around Rotto the last few weeks and havent had much luck in the 30 mtr mark.

did really well on Baldy's as well as quite a few Swallowtail (nannygai).

The tuna are feeding on tiny
The tuna are feeding on tiny bait atm. This combined with the weed, means the Richter Jellybabes are the way to go. I have trolled them straight through a patch of weed and not been fouled.
