Tyrnos TD-16

Hi

Had some problems with my Tyrnos TD16 a while back, so decided to open it and have a look. Picture attached is of the right side cover. A brass nut is visible in the centre of the picture. The drag lever fits over this. This nut can not move and I am thinking this is the problem as I believe it should move with the drag lever. Does anyone know if this should be able to rotate, or if it is meant to be fixed in position in the right cover.

Cheers

Eric

Not sure if it is meant to

Not sure if it is meant to rotate but the go to site for step by step reel servicing is alantani.com .

Fantastic resource for that type of thing.

Eric after a quick read on the Alan Tani site I think you will find that brass nut is meant to be fixed and there are warnings against trying to budge it.

Thanks for the replies.

I did a search on the Alan Tani site, but I didn't find that info. Thanks for finding it for me.

I did a small try to turn it, but realised that things were going to break if I persisted. While in bed last night thinking of it, I wondered it it might be a left hand turn screw, but now that I have that info, I wont put a spanner anywhere near it. Will have to keep looking at it till the answer comes to mind. I also might pop the same post on the Alan Tani site. I have registered there as well

Cheers

If you are having problems with the reel and do not have any success in repairing it, feel free to bring it in we can quote you on a reel service and get it fixed for you. Cheers
