Came with a 150 litre ali underfloor tank. It is a Quintrex navigator, so it really is just a bigger version of a basic tinny. If your boat need weight forward a bit to improve the ride, having that 50 kg around centre could help. You should probably know by now what works for your boat.Knowing how much fuel is in it can be an issue if you opt for a gunwhale-mounted filler, and don't have a fuel gauge installed--mine didn't. I went for an LMS-200 Lowrance fuel manager. This has a sender mounted in your fuel line, measuring flow. It then calculates how much you have left, as long as you gave it an accurate starting point, of course. This means remembering to a)turn it on as soon as you start your motor, and B) remembering to add your fuel ups to it. This is easy to do. These are quite a clever device-if you have an NMEA 2000 GPS device, you can integrate it to give you an economy rate of litres/km or mile, if you wish. Seasonal fuel usage and a whole heap of other stuff is available. Of course, you need somewhere to mount the gauge--you didn't mention whether it was remote controls with somewhere to put it, like a CC/runabout. it cost about $175, from memory. And also, of course, if you go for a floor-mounted filler cap, where you can look straight down into the tank, none of this is necessary
Cheers for your input guys, it's a tiller steer... Just going to buy a longer fuel line and place the tank up towards the front when I need/want the extra space. I'm looking at upgrading the boat in the next few years so I'll just make do with what I have I think. Need to try and stop turning my boat into something it's not haha
I've got a 70 ltd fuel tank in my 4.5mtr dory up under the floor at the bow to help keep the nose down when I'm by my self. Works good as I have a 40hp 4 stroke Yammaha older type on it. It makes good use of space that I normally wouldn't have used
