Using braid

Hi guys trying to find out is there a technique for using braid when fishing have been trying it but find it hard to use and struggle to catch fish switch back to mono and catch them now I am feeling more bites with braid but find it hard to hook them would there be something I'm doing wrong or is it something you have to get use too.

Hey mate, what styles of fishing are you mainly doing?
Making the switch requires a bit of persistence, did it not too long ago myself, but well worth the effort IMO.

If youre bait fishing you may be striking too hard when you feel a bite and the braid not having the stretch of mono, you are probably pullin the hooks out of the fish's gob, so maybe go easy on a strike or try using circle hooks and when you feel a bite or 'pick up' just gently lift the rod to build tension, this is all that is needed to set a circle hook if the fish has eaten it and most times you will hook them in the mouth which enables an easy and safe release if it has to go back. Also, are you running a leader with the braid? Fish may be put off if they see the line

Yeah I run a leader I am feeling the bites just not hooking them also I do bait fishing and lure fishing

Could be just small pickers
Could be just small pickers that you may not have felt using mono, it's surprising just how sensitive braid is especially just after using mono for awhile

Yeah it could be that lol too that and also have to learn new knots to tie leaders I was like should just give up but I'm going up north and think I need to use braid
